Welcome to our Blog page, our record of our trips in a motorhome in the UK and Europe.
We have been fortunate enough to travel throughout the UK and many parts of Europe in our motorhome (an Autotrail 600B). After a couple of years touring we realised that although we had many photos of our trips we hadn’t made any permanent records to remind us of our trips so joined the ever growing army of Bloggers.
We have taken a couple of Gap Years, one to explore the UK and another to explore Europe. We have also had a few long term trips to the winter sunshine of Iberia. This Blog records our experiences, records our routes and were we have stayed and contains our favourite photos.
The three questions we are always asked are:
- Where is your favourite place?
Honestly – we don’t have one, everywhere we have been we have seen amazing things, met wonderful people and had a ball. If we were made to give an answer at gun-point then we would probably both say Scotland still edges to the top for us, closely followed by Sweden.
2. Do you every get bored?
Never, ever – it’s not possible. Despite living in a 6 metre white box life on the road exceeds all our expectations be it for a weekend or a year.
3. How expensive is it to travel in a motorhome?
It is as cheap of expensive as you want to make it. We travel on a tight budget but we do normally use campsites or aires. The average cost of a trip abroad for us (including everything from the ferry, food, diesel, campsites, clothes, eating out, spending money) works out to less than we spend at home living our day to day lives.
Where to next? There is always a plan and it’s currently forming, once the piggy bank has been re-stocked we hope to take another long term trip, until then there is still plenty we want to see in the UK.

Thought I might take the Santander or Bilbao ferry in January and spend a bit of time in north west Spain. Any sites known to you on that side of Spain?

Not somewhere we have spent much time, we usually head for the sun 🙂 we did travel across the North West a couple of years ago but found most campsites were closed. One to try just 40 minutes from Bilbao is http://www.campingcabuerniga.com/ – lovely site and is open, we were the only ones there in the January so quiet.

We missed each other, just leaving Scotland now. We aim to be at Dover mid-October also heading for Sicily for Christmas and Greece for early Spring. Doubtless we will catch up with each other at some point.
It’s fun isn’t it?

Interesting reading your blog and seeing places like Clocaenog forest, Rhyl and Mold coming up made me smile . Living in Ruthin up to twelve months ago and working in Mold they brought me back to home with a bang Thankyou . Derbyshire isnt half as nice as living in the Vale of Clwyd
